Wedderburg Consulting Group will hold the official launch of its Ballarat and Western Region Office at the Art Gallery of Ballarat on Thursday 14th July at 6pm.

The event will be held by Wedderburg Consulting Group in the “Annexe”, the Gallery’s newest function room which will not be officially opened until the 21st July.

A limited number of guests will have the privilege of experiencing this beautiful venue that maintains the integrity of Ballarat’s historic heritage while offering a new, modern feel, signifying Ballarat as a contemporary city of tomorrow.

Mayor of Ballarat, Cr. Craig Fletcher will be open the event accompanied by notable speakers including Catalina Forero, Member Benefits Team, Royal Automobile Club of Victoria (RACV Club) and a representative from The Association of Professional Engineers Scientists and Managers Australia (APESMA).

Other distinguished guests include Anthony Schink, CEO of Ballarat and Jeremy Johnson CEO of Sovereign Hill.

Speakers will focus on the economic development of Ballarat including the challenges around addressing the skill needs in the region.

Wedderburg Consulting Group, a Human Capital Management firm, has chosen Ballarat as the location for its regional head office. In line with Ballarat’s long-term vision of becoming the major economic hub of Western Victoria, Wedderburg Consulting will focus on helping the business community manage the skills shortages currently experienced in the region and assist companies to identify and attract the critical people necessary for this vision to become a reality.

“$370 million currently escapes out of Ballarat each year on fees and services that residents and businesses pay to firms based in Melbourne for the provision of personal and professional services. This highlights the important work that Council does to support existing businesses and attract new businesses to Ballarat like Wedderburg Consulting Group” Ballarat Mayor, Cr Craig Fletcher said recently.

As part of its commitment to the economic development initiatives championed by the City of Ballarat, Wedderburg Consulting Group will introduce an internship program in 2012. This program will give the brightest students from the University of Ballarat’s School of Business the opportunity to live and work in Ballarat upon completion of their studies.

“I grew up in Ballarat but left after completing my studies at the University of Ballarat, due to limited career choices,” Wedderburg Consulting Group’s Principal Associate, Zoe Allan said.

“The decision to relocate to Ballarat and open our head office here was driven by my passion for this city. I want to get involved with the local business community over the coming years to help create a strong economic future for Ballarat,” Zoe added.
